Many film-lovers remember Jayne Dennis for her stellar haunting performance in The Back Room Deal. However, she has proven she can play even more memorable roles than a babe with dollar signs in her deep hazel eyes. Her career began—modestly enough—with a series of commercials, the most adorable being her two-year stint as the "Honeycomb's Happy Camper." Jayne Dennis went on to make us laugh and cry with amazing appearances in some of TV's most beloved shows, including her role as Elena, the amnesiac in General Hospital and Brittany, Theo's prom-date on The Cosby Show.
Around this time JD's modeling career hit full-stride. She was on the covers of Vogue, Glamour, Seventeen, YM, Sassy, and Harper's Bazaar. Plus, who could forget the outrageous Serendipity perfume ads?
With her face everywhere, Jayne Dennis finally got her big break in Greek Week, a classic in the teen sex comedy canon. From there, she dove into the big-time with The Back Room Deal, the classic picture of eighties money madness, and followed it with a sequel that some argue was almost as good. Our personal favorite, Liz Lotito came next. This film (based-on-real-events) is the story of a police-officer who risks everything to blow the whistle on her colleagues, dirty cops without souls. Jayne Dennis's role as Phlox in the edgy The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, showed the world that Jayne Dennis is a multi-dimensional acress. Her scenes with Keanu Reeves crackle with energy, a hint of the romance that began while they were filming. From there, she was inundated with requests, but had already had her first child, and was staying out of the limelight. Jayne Dennis chose to become the voice of Lucy, the Lizard in an animated version of Timothy, the Turtle, voiced by Bruce Willis.
Currently, Jayne Dennis is living in London, filming the hilarious movie-version of best-selling novel I Don't Know How She Does It.
